Welcome
Administering: Your site admin rights grant you the ability to change everything on your site, from the look, the pages, the widgets that appear on the pages, and more. Everything administrative in nature is done by either clicking on the Control Panel link, or by clicking on the Edit buttons found under the widgets.  For example, click the Edit button under this widget after you're done reading it to edit this block of content so it says what you want it to for people visiting your site.

Video: Widgets

Styling: We have a vast array of themes for you to choose from, but GuildPortal goes far beyond that, by providing you the ability to generate attractive graphics for your banner, widgets, and other elements of your site.  In addition, if you're one of those power users who is comfortable in the world of HTML and CSS (or you have a designer in the guild who is), then you'll find our advanced tools for custom HTML and CSS provide you all the power you need to get the exact look you want.

Layout: Nothing is set in stone here. You can have whatever pages you want, call them what you want, and add whatever widgets you want to them. Widgets are specific to the page they're on, so if you want a shout box on one page, but not on another, it's no problem at all.

Getting Members Here: Easy. Give them the URL to your site and let them know to apply. By default, the application process is single-click and painless (you can add application questions later on, if you like). If you have e-mail addresses of your guild members, however, head to your Control Panel and click Member Management (over on the left), and then click E-Mail Invites.

Thank you for choosing GuildPortal as your guild's website host! For more information, check our Frequently Asked Questions, Videos and the Admin Community, where other guild leaders using GuildPortal hang out.  If you need help, we're only a support ticket away!

'The Rapscallions' featured in DDO Chronicle! (9.21.12)

axlander, Sep 24, 12 10:46 AM.
Whoa! Check it out! We made a big enough splash to catch the eye of Cordovan, a Turbine Community Specialist! Here's the email I got from him:

"Just a note that we'll be highlighting your guild in the DDO Chronicle this week, and linking to your recruitment thread. Have fun! - Cordovan"

Seriously?!

YES! Check out the DDO Chronicle:

The Rapscallions are a casual, fun, and friendly guild on Thelanis that recently re-opened their guild up for new members! The guild has players of all levels. Click here to find out more about them!

Pretty cool, huh? I was surprised!
We have some good momentum with this - let's keep it going!

Keep the Faith, Rapscallions

axlander, Sep 19, 12 1:51 PM.
It may seem that our active member count is dwindling down a bit...it is, but not much. As a matter of fact, we have picked up some quality active players and our renown keeps going up (about 10-15k every 3 days or so - I have been tracking :) )

I will be on the next few days actively recruiting during peak hours (9-midnight EST). I will also be seeking out some smaller guilds to see if there is interest in combining our efforts. We really have a good group of players and a great opportunity with the guild at level 34.

Keep up the great work everyone!

The guild is growing...fast, but strong.

Hey everyone. Axlander here, officer and recruiter. I have caught up with many of you in-game and I'm glad you have decided to join 'The Rapscallions'.

It's true, we have added quite a few members in the past few weeks. I am happy to say that almost all of them have stuck around. Heck, last night we had 8-10 players on simultaneously for quite some time.

As a rule, we do not blind invite players to our guild. Many of you have chatted with me or Deth for a while, perhaps even run a quest or two before being invited. That seems to work well.

For those of you with alts, let me know in-game and I will invite them to the guild, too. Guild size and decay are NOT affected by how many toons there are in the guild. DDO calculates the number of accounts to determine guild size.

As the guild continues to grow, we're going to have some discussion about a guild voice chat server. Some members have asked about this already, and some of us have experience with different brands (Teamspeak, Ventrillo, etc.). I'll start a post in the forum to get everyone's input.

That's about all for now.
Thanks for being part of our little guild. :)
